Associate Professor of Reproductive Health
Dr Alemtsehay Mekonnen is a staff of Bahir Dar University at the School of Public Health, in the department of Reproductive Health. I have MPH in Reproductive Health and PhD in public health. I am a life course reproductive health specialist with research interest that spans adolescent sexual and reproductive health, including reproductive age women and children.
I have worked in Gondar University and Bahir Dar University for the last 20 years. I have several research experiences and publications on Youth Friendly Sexual and Reproductive Health services, Fistula, Family Planning utilization, HIV/AIDS, Adolescent Sexual Behavior, socio cultural contexts of adolescent sexual health, Sexual and Reproductive Health service utilization, maternal health and child health service, unwanted pregnancy, Sexual gender based violence in ware affected area, and Menstrual hygiene.
I am involved in national and international projects related to reproductive health. Currently, I am an Associate Professor of reproductive health, and working as a dean of school of public health. I am a Steering Committee member of EpiGen-Ethiopia project at Bahir Dar University
