Prof. Denise Naniche

ISGlobal Scientific Director and Research Professor, associated professor at the University of Barcelona. Denise Naniche holds a PhD in Immunology from the Université Claude Bernard in Lyon, France and a Master in Public Health/Epidemiology from San Diego State University.

Denise is an epidemiologist with extensive experience managing and leading research projects, supervising PhD students and teaching. Her research draws on her expertise in clinical immunology and epidemiology to address issues in infectious diseases relevant to low- and middle-income countries. Her research interests have focussed on improving access to HIV diagnosis, treatment and control in Sub Saharan Africa, working mainly in Mozambique.

She has also coordinated the ISGlobal course in Development and application of Vaccines in Global Health for nearly 15 years.
