Viral Genomics Surveillance in Ethiopia: Guanine Project

Session Lead: Atsbeha Gebreegziabxier, Integrated Pathogen Genomics and Bioinformatics Facility, EPHI

Session Discussion:

Atsbeha provided an overview of Ethiopia’s Genomics Surveillance projects and noted the absence of viral genomics surveillance as a critical missing link in the larger public health system. Accurate and timely viral genomics surveillance will allow us to better prepare ourselves for viral outbreaks and to prepare vaccines for these situations.
