EpiGen sponsors two advanced grant writing workshops attended by over 50 people

In 2025, EpiGen Ethiopia provided funding for two advanced workshops delivered by the Ethiopian Public Health Institute, designed to enhance researchers' knowledge and skills in grant writing.

Co-Lead Investigator Dr Dawit Wolday led both workshops. His extensive experience as an EDTCP grant reviewer and in designing successful grants linked to infectious diseases provided participants with chances to improve their skills in the relevant fields. Every session was interactive and created with adult learning techniques in mind to broaden participants' perspectives on the subjects covered.

In April, over 30 people from universities in Oromia attended the workshop, held in partnership with Adama Science and Technology University. In November, 28 attendees from universities in Amhara state participated, with Dr Ketema Tefess and Dr Tafese Bayena co-leading the workshop.
