Dr. Eshetu Ejeta Chaka
Local Project Manager, Ethiopian Public Health Institute
Dr. Eshetu Ejeta has a background as an epidemiologist and associated professor at Ambo University. His research focuses primarily on public health, maternal health epidemiology, health care systems, and health service delivery. Besides this, he has an interest in infectious disease epidemiology and clinical epidemiology.
Dr. Eshetu has acquired a BSc degree in nursing from Haramaya University, Ethiopia, and an MSc degree in public health from University of Gondar, Ethiopia. He received his Ph.D. in epidemiology from the Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Iran.
Over the last 15 years, Dr. Eshetu has published many scientific papers, advised master’s and Ph.D. student research, and coordinated national-based surveys and research. He currently functions as the local project manager of the EpiGen Ethiopia project at the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI).
