TB Sensitization Workshop

The genomic sequencing of drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) is one of several research projects under the EpiGen Project, which aims to generate whole genome sequences of DR-TB isolates collected from various sites in Ethiopia. The study plans to collect 500 DR-TB samples from 11 regional laboratories distributed across different locations in Ethiopia. The overarching goal is to strengthen local expertise in genomic sequencing, fostering long-term sustainability in DR-TB research and management. This initiative is expected to enhance TB control efforts, thereby supporting the national TB program in Ethiopia. Preliminary results from the study will be presented.
